The Overcomers podcast interviews people about overcoming adversity. We believe that adversity can become your advantage. We ask people to tell us how their past has built muscles instead of scars. The topics that we cover include abuse, addiction, incarceration, depression, anxiety, health problems, loss of income, loss of employment. Mark Henick is a man that has dedicated his life to helping people change their lives through mental health. He’s had direct experience with depression. When he was young his depression was so severe that he had even had several suicide attempts. Now he spends his time trying to help others get out from underneath the crushing weight of their depression, like he made it out of his.
Currently, he is the CEO of Strategic Mental Health Solutions. This is a consulting firm that helps people and organizations move from standard mental health awareness into having a more in depth understanding of mental health and taking measurable action to better mental health.
He has a Master’s Degree in Child Development, a Bachelor’s of Arts, and several certifications (including trauma counseling and suicide intervention). He has become a sought-after public speaker when it comes to mental illness and mental health, and he’s just written a book on those subjects called “So-Called Normal.”
Mark is a man truly giving his time to better the lives of people everywhere. He’s overcome so much, and he continues to help people to overcome their problems to this very day.
